The food was fantastic, great front of house team and beautiful setting. We had to wait a little bit for our table but it was absolutely worth the wait. We are so pleased to see Clara and Christian (maitre D, chef) back in Bangkok after few years away, we loved going to Sensi when they were in charge and their new venture is even better. Chef Christian has up his game even more, the food is amazing, great flavour combinations and beautiful presentation, we went there for Valentine and the 11 course tasting menu was very impressive, the service was flawless thanks to Clara and her team which is quite rare in Bangkok. And then the venue is beautiful, the restaurant is set in the peaceful Yen Akart area, in a building which used to be an exhibition hall. After the reopening we were really happy that we had the opportunity to try the new and inexpensive lunch menu. It was great!! In this restaurant everything is perfect! The BauHaus-style villa. The atmosphere - dignified but not stiff, pleasant and cosy. Furnishings and table culture are modern and at the top level of design, surrounded by numerous works of art. Chef Christian offers remarkable culinary art: creatively modernized Italian cuisine incredibly tastefully and artistically arranged. However, the highlight is the unbelievably perfect hospitality Madame Clara brings to every guest! She is always ready to fulfill every request, always personal and friendly, but never intrusive. We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant - we didn't know much about it going in and booked same day for an early dinner, and it turned into a magical experience. The setting is lovely - in a beautiful villa in a green garden on a quiet street. The space is light and airy and glows with candlelight as the night goes on. I am mostly over tasting menus, but this one was excellent and totally won me over - every course was very good to outstanding, the sizes weren't overwhelming, and we got a lovely variety. The dessert was really great too - sometimes an afterthought, but not here. And the service was incredible - Clara and all her team were very kind and attentive. I first encountered Clara in Siem Reap during their two-night event at FCC hotel. Impressed, I vowed to visit their Bangkok restaurant. The night was unforgettable. The service was professional yet casual, with no rush, making you feel at home. Every dish was expertly crafted, showcasing the generosity of Italian cuisine. I left completely satisfied after the set menu. The team was generous and friendly, with perfect and varied wine pairings. I also appreciated that we could choose different menus without being forced to select the same one. I highly recommend Clara for an exceptional Italian dining experience in Bangkok. Went for the 9 course signature and the whole table left feeling extremely satisfied with the meal AND the service from both Clara and team, was also glad to meet Christian. Clara was exceptionally patient in explaining every single dish and the team actually managed to make it work for one of my guest who is lactose intolerant (tall order especially in Italian cuisine). Staff were extremely attentive and napkins were folded when guests went to freshen up, cutleries were promptly replaced… females were served first etc. Top tier hospitality 💯 We also got a home made bottle of chocolate liqueur that was the great closer to the night. Best Fine Dining Experience Ever… I was lucky enough to experience Clara for my birthday and it was the wonderful night and the food is amazing. From the moment of arrival being greeted in the gardens the whole night was simply the best, ice cold champagne then the menu was the explained and how Chef Cristian put the menu together based in his time and life in Italy now bringing his culinary flare to Bangkok. I opted for the 7 course menu and from the first bite and taste to the last course everything was a party of flavors. I cannot express enough how good the good, the service and ambience made me feel on my special birthday day. I would highly recommend anyone who has a love of both Italian cuisine and fine dining without being very pretentious to visit Clara. If there was a 10* Rating I would give it to Clara and it is a must visit whilst living or traveling in Bangkok. ~ Pikulthong. T

Here for the Valentine's day dinner. I have PTSD with Bangkok's traffic so I somehow got here 1.5 hour early lol There are lovely outdoor sofa as waiting seats and they served white wines for people waiting. I got seated at the exact booking time even tho people rounds before me did not have proper travel planning and got here late...(Which I totally understand that it's not restaurant's fault) The interior design of the place is modern contemporary style, like an art gallery. Def a piece of art. The layout, the lighting, and the decoration, everything is perfect. The food itself is also exceptional. Fresh ingredient and well done presentation. ~ Poppy U

Absolutely sensational. The restaurant is large yet there are only a small number of tables spaced well apart. The energy is really warm despite the vast, modern space. Food was really delicious and we loved the Italian x Japanese tastes across the dishes. The gnocchi pesto with nori, most definitely a stand out along with the melt in your mouth Wagyu. We took the 6 course + paired wines experience and it was perfect. Both my dietary and wine preferences were considered. Very kind and non pretentious sommelier explaining the paired wines was appreciated. Clara herself is a warm and gracious host. We loved chatting with her and she was kind enough to give me some homegrown olive oil to take back to Australia (best I’ve ever tasted in my life). Then there is the chocolate liquor…wow! We really enjoyed our evening and will look forward to returning when next in BKK. ~ Tracey P

We recently returned to Clara to celebrate our anniversary—a place that holds special meaning for us, as it was also the setting of our last date dinner before getting married a few years ago in Vietnam. We experienced the Christmas menu, which was nothing short of astonishing—standing beautifully at the crossroads of fine dining and nostalgic, comforting Christmas and family-style flavors. It was a journey through Italian classics subtly reimagined with Asian, particularly Japanese, influences. The menu showcased an impressive variety of textures and ingredients, seamlessly moving between surf and turf, with sauces that were impeccably balanced and offered long-lasting, complex depth and aromas. The experience was elevated further by excellent wine pairings and an elegant, attentive, and genuinely caring service. One of the most incredible and memorable dining experiences we have ever had! We made a reservation for dinner and absolutely loved it from start to finish. The service was top notch, and the carefully crafted dishes & creativity of the tasting really stood out. They allow for Italian and in season ingredients to shine while staying true to Italian cuisine with a modern twist. They were also very pertinent about their wine selection and the wine pairing was awesome. They were extremely communicative before and during our time there. Recently experienced Clara Italian Restaurant in Bangkok, where the culinary journey intertwines local Italian ingredients with a touch of sophistication. The seafood offerings, albeit more expensive, would perfectly cater to local tastes (instead of seabraem perhaps like cod, snowfish). And pigeon not suitable for locals. We have group of 15 Thai but no one select pigeon. The excellent food, nuanced flavors, and impeccable service make it a standout choice. The well-spaced tables create a private dining atmosphere, enhancing the overall experience. Truly a hidden gem for those seeking elevated Italian dining with a local twist in Bangkok! ~ Molly L

Excellent service, excellent food. Our friends recommended the seasonal menu over their signature. So that’s what we had. Very high quality ingredients and thoughtful creations and layered flavors. The course progress was very good. Unlike many tasting menu where they reuse certain sauces repeatedly throughout the course, nothing at Clara’s was as such. Our service staff was very professional. If any complaints I can think of, would be the sommelier who was not on the friendly, not service minded as his colleagues. In any case, we only had to interact with him briefly so it didn’t spoiled the dinner. Highly recommended. ~ Somphon P
